Who We Are
A non-partisan political blog with student research and student generated content. The students come from undergraduate courses on: American Government, California State and Local Politics, Politics, Immigration, and Citizenship, Research Methods, and in Fall 2020 Latino/a Politics. We examine current policy, past/future elections, and in election years create issue specific voter guides.
Students select and examine issues, parties, and candidates at the national, state, and local levels. The purpose of the blog is to develop knowledge and expertise as well as to encourage student engagement and participation in the political arena.
I post student content from current and previous semesters. The student blogs are either in the style of voter guides or post-election postmortems, they focus on describing a political issue and the impact of the most recent midterm or presidential election on their issues. I also post student podcasts and the transcripts of the podcasts. In the podcasts students focus on explaining, describing, or analyzing a current political issue.
The Civic Experience blog is not endorsed by the CSU, it is maintained by the professor.
